Rem tene, verba sequentur! Novice Latin Conversation (Novice)

In the famous words of Cato the Elder, "Rem tene, verba sequentur," or, "Understand the matter, the words will follow!" In this course, we will use the Novice-Intermediate Podcast Rem Tene! and other novice resources to spark and fuel an hour-long conversation session meant for folks who have not yet had an experience speaking, have very little experience, or simply otherwise would like a refresher. The course will have minimal homework (though not at all necessary to succeed and participate) which will consist of engagement with these resources to get the input that will help to foster the conversation of the proceeding class. All are welcome!
Sessions will take place via Zoom and are capped at 8 participants to ensure a personalized learning environment.
Schedule:
8 1-hour sessions over 8 weeks
Tuesdays, 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm EST*
14 January, 2025 - 4 March, 2025
*The course will observe US time. Major US federal holidays are observed. If a participant misses a session due to their observance of a religious holiday, they can arrange a separate session with the instructor.
