Latin with Legonium 4: Intermediate-Low Spoken Latin

$200.00

Instructor:

Michael “Meletus” Sweet

Description:

Have you already dipped your toes into speaking Latin, but need an opportunity to practice? Each week in this course we’ll read stories from Anthony Gibbon’s Legonium, discuss the texts in easy, comprehensible Latin, and write simple summaries (in Latin!) between classes of what we read.

The instructor will guide the reading discussions while providing comprehensible input while we work together, provide feedback on weekly writing, and focus on various grammatical topics with an eye to their use in everyday communication.

Students are not expected to read any text ahead of time, but an anticipated reading schedule will be provided and students are encouraged to read (not TRANSLATE!) text prior to class sessions.

This is a continuation of last term's Latin with Legonium 3. We will start with Season 1, Episode 9 (Nona).

Sessions will take place via Zoom and are capped at 6 participants to ensure a personalized learning environment.

Schedule:

8 1-hour sessions over 8 weeks

Saturday, 10 AM - 11 AM EST*

28 September, 2024 - 16 November, 2024

*The course will observe US time and thus will change according to daylight savings time.

Major US federal holidays are observed. If a participant misses a session due to their observance of a religious holiday, they can arrange a separate session with the instructor.

Cost: USD 200 ($25/ session)
