Salve! Iason scribo. I graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, in 2004 with a B.A. in Ancient Studies. After graduation, I taught for 12 years in the Baltimore County Public School System. During that time I helped develop a district-wide Latin curriculum based on the principles of comprehensible input and best practices of second language acquisition. I have served on the boards of the Maryland Foreign Language Association, and SALVI, and have presented at numerous MFLA, NECTFL, and ACTFL Conferences, on the topic of using target language instruction in the Latin Classroom. I attended my first Latin immersion program at Rusticatio Virginiana in 2007. Starting in 2009, I began volunteering with SALVI, helping to run the kitchen for Rusticatio programs, and moving into other roles, including facilities manager, adjunct instructor, and lead instructor. I have served on the faculty of SALVI programs around the United States and at the "Rusticatio Australiana," held in Kangaroo Valley, Australia. In 2015, after leaving the classroom, I moved to Albuquerque, NM, in order to be closer to family. I currently manage an all-vegan restaurant in ABQ, serving New Mexican cuisine and hot sandwiches. In addition to vegan cooking, I have a passion for tabletop gaming and am always looking for a new way to play games in Latin.
